I LOVE the natural science museum.. one visit is worth a textbook of knowledge, in my opinion.. I like making the kids scavenger hunt type worksheets to engage them a bit more while looking at the exhibits. I try to cover all the areas of the museum- energy, paleontology, gems and minerals, etc.. and have questions like "When did the trilobites first appear? How is a geode formed? Find a display of your birth gemstone and record where it was found. " We also ran into a great chemistry lesson given my a visiting chemist... over the kids head, but they did learn a lot about polymers & density..
